Technology O3 What is OZONE?

Ozone (O3) is a substance whose molecule is made of three oxygen atoms, formed when the two atoms in oxygen gas (O2) dissociate and join another O2 molecule.

Thanks to our O3 technology, the ozone is injected into tap water and stabilised in the mixing process. The result lets you clean and disinfect with efficient, high-quality results.

You can clean and disinfect any material and surface. The ozone destroys organic residue, leaving only water and oxygen as by-products.

EUOTA — European Ozone Trade Association

Members of the consortium for the ozone-as-biocide approval dossier.

EuO3TA (European Ozone Trade Association) is an association of ozone generator manufacturers supplying the European market. Its purpose is to bring those manufacturers together in a single organisation. One of its goals is a working forum on market issues and approval of the ozone dossier in Europe.

One of the most important is sharing the prohibitive costs and the many compliance issues related to Regulation 528/2012 of 1 September, BPR – Biocidal Products Regulation. For those reasons, EuO3TA is also used as a forum to consider a separate registration group for ozone as an active substance under the BPR.

A new Registration Group would guarantee access to an active-substance dossier on ozone for all participating members on terms that are transparent, commercially fair, and at a cost that would allow most ozone-generator manufacturers to take part.

ActiveO3 Ltd is one of its members and forms part of the OTF (Ozone Task Force), a group of companies that formed a consortium to submit an approval dossier for ozone and to meet the requirements of the Biocidal Products Regulation. EuO3TA currently has an ozone dossier validated by ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) and the European Commission.
